Obverse descriptionLight-blue print; black inscriptions; red seals; black group number and serial numbers. God of luck `Daikoku` front-facing at the right, holding gavel in right hand and sack of riches on left shoulder, sitting on two bags of rice with three mice below. Radiant sun on top, small repeating vertical inscription in Chinese seal script `壹圓兌換銀券` alternating between repeating inscription `ONE YEN`. Reverse of contemporary 1 Yen coin in the center. Seal of Governor of Bank of Japan, depicting symbol of Bank of Japan dividing inscription in Chinese seal script into four parts, reads right-to-left, inside decorated circle. Left-parted Seal Director of Document Department, depicting vertical reversing type inscription in Chinese clerical script, flanked by dragons motifs, inside circle, at center-right edge outside main frame.
Reverse descriptionOrange print; red seal. Penalty text, vertical reversing type inscription in regular script in center cartouche, surrounded by guilloché. Denomination `10` and `YEN`, each on guilloché, flanking horizontally; denomination in Chinese seal script sandwiching vertically. Red director of treasury seal, depicting vertical inscription in Chinese clerical script inside rectangle, flanked by dragons motifs, inside double circles, at bottom left.
